what it feels like inside video and audio meditation created by riley teahan and natalita featuring cat dorvilus, Janai’ Steib, Kaisas Nairobis Peguero, Mary Okoth, natalita, Raji, Rosemary Minasian, riley teahan, sara quinn spring 2020 We were invited by the photography collective Southerly Gold to create an installation at Good Children Gallery in New Orleans, LA. The show was ultimately canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, so we decided to share what we created on a digital platform. For this exhibition we were asked to contemplate the 5th element — call it void, ether, spirit, prayer. There is a space that exists where silence and darkness meet. In that space new senses awaken and transformation occurs. Go inside. riley and natalita began their creative partnership in New Orleans in the fall of 2016. Uniquely combining movement, meditation, music, theatre and design, they create worlds together. As collaborators they share a commitment to making art that is a channel for the divine, a process for healing, and a celebration of femininity and darkness. Their chosen mediums are attention, prayer, body, and breath. They work to remove barriers to expression by creating with what is available and abundant, in relationship to land and community. They hope to inspire others to awaken to their own power by returning to nature, to mother, to earth. www.soundcloud.com/mythsfrommywomb www.instagram.com/mythsfrommywomb www.rileyteahan.com www.instagram.com/rileyteahan
